Where is the best place to set up a humidor?
The main point that comes into play here is temperature. In most locations, normal temperature fluctuations that occur throughout the day do not present a problem for your humidor. However, care should be taken regarding the following points:
- The humidor should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Sudden increases in temperature, even short-term, are associated with fluctuations in the relative humidity level inside the humidor and should be avoided.
- For this same reason, the humidor should not be placed in the immediate vicinity of a heater or an air-conditioning system.
- Extreme cold should also be avoided. Unheated rooms or cellars often do not reach the recommended minimum temperature of 16°C, especially during the winter months.
